Mona AlAref started the AlTumayr initiative with her daughter Haya with the goal of raising donations for charitable organizations that support Palestinian youth. They partner with designers to create jewelry that represents the Palestinian people and emulates the beauty of the Palestine Sunbird, AlTumayr. 

AlTumayr designs celebrate Palestinian heritage.  It is crucial that our people preserve their Palestinian identity and design provides the perfect platform for this.  

Through AlTumayr, Mona has explored her own style in fashion and reflects it in all their pieces. Mona has also had the privilege of collaborating with incredibly creative and talented individuals and designers including Amina and Aya Safieddine, Huda AlNashif, Nour Sukkar, Lulwa AlAref, Zain Nabulsi, Zaina Saed, Rana  AlMufti AlQadi, Yola Jahshan, Jude and Karma Ghazaleh, Nesreen and Nermeen Abu Dail, Deema Murad and Salam Dajani. 

Mona urges all designers to be true to their own self and identity. She believes that ideas and creativity inspired by one’s life experiences can be a force for good.
