Bittersweet Land

Bittersweet Land

50 x 13cm 1/1

2026

Mediums and material: Sculptures are made with clay and mixed media depending on sculpture. Presented on an acrylic gloss, black background with a clear acrylic cover.

Rawan Sirry is a Dubai-based sculptor of Palestinian and Lebanese heritage, born in London and shaped by a life across Europe and the Middle East. After 15 years in global advertising as a graphic designer, she turned to a more tactile, intuitive form of expression.

Her work explores hyper-realistic confectionery forms, meticulously handcrafted in polymer clay, acrylic, and mixed media. At first glance, they seduce, glossy, indulgent, almost edible. But they resist. In Sirry’s world, candy becomes a language, speaking of desire, restraint, and the delicate tension between pleasure and denial.

Each sculpture is entirely handmade and never replicated. Guided by instinct rather than sketch, her process is slow, deliberate, and deeply personal, resulting in singular pieces that invite both temptation and reflection.
