Diana Shamounki, b. 1945 in Jordan, started her artistic career in 1967 and studies art with the late Italian artist Armando Prön and the pioneer Jordanian artist Muhanna Dura. Later on she trained on figure painting and drawing at Montgomery College of Maryland in the USA. In 2012, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts held a retrospective exhibition on her works.
