Asma Ghanem (b. 1991, Damascus) is a Palestinian artist, experimental musician, and writer. She holds a BA in Audio-Visual Arts from the International Academy of Arts in Palestine and an MA from the University of Fine Arts in Toulouse, France (ISDAT). Her multidisciplinary practice explores themes of homeland, memory, sound, and the imaginative experience of life under occupation. She has exhibited her work internationally and was invited to lecture at Cornell University and CalArts in 2024, sharing her personal and artistic journey as a Palestinian artist.

Ghanem is the recipient of several prestigious awards and grants, including the Qattan Foundation Production Award and two grants from the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) — for her debut experimental album At Land (2017), and for her publication Damaged Brains Music, based on field research in West Bank refugee camps. In 2015, she received a Special Mention in the Palestin' & Out competition in Paris, and in 2016, she was awarded third prize in the Young Artist Award / Hassan Hourani Prize for her project Homeland is….

Her 2020 short documentary Wall Piano, co-directed with Alexia Webster and Christopher Marianetti, received international acclaim and multiple festival recognitions. In 2022, she collaborated with Disney & Marvel, creating a series of paintings for the upcoming film Iron Woman. Her work spans painting, sound, photography, writing, and video art — always rooted in personal memory, sonic experimentation, and the quiet poetics of resistance.
