Lamis Dajani Shawwa is a visual artist and interior designer residing in Athens. An Inchbald School-trained interior designer, she worked in Jerusalem (where she renovated a heritage house), Toronto, London, Damascus, and Athens. Her work has been featured in Elle Decor, Villas Views & Ideas, and Mediterranean Living. Lamis is now dedicated to large-format painting. Living near the sea in Greece sparked her ‘poetic expressionism’ style.
Lamis’s artwork is in private collections in the U.S, Switzerland, Syria, and Greece. She has exhibited in Toronto, Washington D.C., Athens, as well as a group exhibition titled “Foreigners In Their Homeland” at the Mora Palace during the 2024 Venice Biennale. Her work was acquired by Barjeel Art Foundation, UAE, for Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi’s private art collection. In 2025, she participated in The Gaza Biennale, in Athens. Her stainless steel “Salam” sculpture was also chosen to be submerged in the sea off Lampedusa island, Italy, as part of “The Human Bridge” project, after being exhibited at the Between Festival of Art in Sicily in July 2025.
